Made in Britain

Rotary has joined Made in Britain, an organisation that promotes British manufacturing. Rotary will now use the Made in Britain registered trademark on all future products.

Operating from Sheffield since 1952, Rotary Engineering is renowned for the design and manufacture of machinery and equipment for the motor rewind industry and machinery for the production of high voltage coils. The business also incorporates Burnand which specialises in industrial electromagnets and this dates back to 1896.

The business has moved premises over the decades but remains firmly rooted in Sheffield, a city that is well respected globally for it’s industrial heritage and craftmanship. The company already has Made in Sheffield accreditation and has now achieved recognition for Made in Britain status.

International trade is a big part of Rotary’s business and machines are located all over the world. Overseas buyers often state that they prefer products from European countries so recognition of the country of origin is important. Establishing that a product is made in Britain reassures buyers and specifiers that they are buying a reliable, well engineered product.

The directors are keen to support British Manufacturing and favour UK and local business where this is possible. A reliable supply chain is essential for efficient, high quality manufacturing and so working with British producers means building close relationships and greater reliability. Using local suppliers also reduces lead times, transport costs and CO2 emissions.
