The company was first established in Sheffield in 1952 as Rotary Electrical with the objective of providing a quality motor rewinding and repair service. The lifting magnet business was established in 1896 and bought by Rotary in the 1990s
Trading as Rotary Engineering UK Limited since 2003, the company includes Rotary Engineering and Rotary Burnand.
Today Rotary Engineering UK Limited is a leading engineering company providing a first class, customer led service from a modern, well-equipped workshop.
Rotary Engineering UK Limited provides high quality and reliable mechanical aids to dismantle, clean, rewind and reassemble electric motors and Generators.
Rotary Engineering designs, manufactures and sources workshop equipment for the motor rewind trade and develops engineering solutions.
Burnand, originally established in 1896, designs, manufactures and refurbishes industrial magnet systems, magnets and magnetic separation equipment.

In 2010, Rotary Engineering Ltd. completed a move to it's new Old Lane premises, 18,000 sq. ft. workshop space with refurbished offices creating a nice friendly working environment, boosting morale throughout the company.
Old Lane is in Sheffield, Britain's fifth largest city. Over one third of Sheffield lies within the Peak District National Park, but it remains a centre of industrial engineering excellence, with the M1 and M18 motorways and main line railway providing reliable transport links. A local airport within 30 miles of the factory complements communication links, strengthening Sheffield's position as a key European industrial centre in the 21st century.
